Crosscutting Legal Issues
There are a number of legal issues that are relevant regardless of the specific nature of the child protection- or safeguarding-related concerns. Examples of such subjects include for example information sharing and disclosure, consent and confidentiality, and the meaning of parental responsibility. In addition, this section includes information and advice on practical skills that frontline practitioners may be required to employ in the course of their work, such as how to record information to make a child protection referral and how to prepare a statement for court. Frontline practitioners should be knowledgeable on these issues and aware of their obligations that arise within these areas of law and practice.
